I couldn't even activate it on my phone Moto X Pure 2015, I had to use a Galaxy S7 to sync it. While we are on motion sensitivity, out of the box the motion sensor is way too sensitive. There website says if someone lingers by the door for 10 seconds before sending you a push notification. But as soon as we were stepping out of the door it would go off. Both our original and replacement unit had this issue. Also, the unit was picking up cars driving by on a road 50 feet away from our house or changes in lighting shadows moving in the distance.

This version of the iRobot Roomba, which can hold up to 10 grams of debris, also creates a virtual map of your home, making sure that every nook and cranny gets cleaned. If you frequently visit the bathroom or any room in your home for that matter at night, you have to choose whether to turn on the bright lights or navigate around in the dark. Philips Hue solves this dilemma with its Smart Motion Sensor Lights. The sensors will automatically turn on the lights for a set amount of time after motion is detected, and you can even set it to use a gentle light that won’t blind you. There's no messing with wires a win for renters and those who don’t want to damage their walls, as the plug runs on batteries. Oh, and did we mention the set up takes just a minute?Easy peasy.

It may vary, but usually, the low battery button can be silenced for more extended periods than the regular alarm. Smoke and fire detectors are an essential part of your home or apartment. Their loud, piercing alarms should wake you if there’s a problem, so you and your loved ones can safely escape, or put out the fire. Smart smoke detectors go a step further, as they can send an alert to your smartphone if they sense something amiss. That way, if you’re at work, or out of town, you can call the fire department or a neighbor check on your house, to see if everything is OK. Another benefit of a smart smoke detector is that you can temporarily silence the alarm from your smartphone — so there’s no more trying to jab the Silence button with a broomstick after you set it off while cooking a steak. There's not a lot of choice when it comes to smart smoke detectors. Our favorite for a few years running is the Nest Protect. It's the most full featured alarm, blaring out a loud siren and telling you where the problem is. It works with a lot of other smart home systems, so for example it can turn on all your Philips Hue lights, making it easier to find your way out. However, if you don't want to spend more than $100 on a smoke detector—you should have several in your home—then check out the Roost Smart Battery.
